Holy 3D, Batman

With the 3DS being out for a while now, It's time to review whether or not 3D was the greatest idea in the world for Nintendo to go with. What doesn't this system do? It dices, it slices, it mixes, it washes your dog, and it does it all in stunning 3D. Maybe it doesn't do all these things but it does do 3D. The knock right away is the battery life of the system. I understand the problems with the length of time the system stays "playable" but at the same time this could be one of those things Nintendo put into the system to keep people from damaging their eyes while playing. I could feel my eyes starting to bother me a few hours in but the 3D from the system is just going to take some time to adjust to. After that, everyone should be able to play without a problem. For more fun in 3D, the E-Shop was recently made public and 2 games are available, Free of Charge., Pokedex 3D and Excitebike 3D. Both games bring different things to the table but they both share one thing in common, Slow download time in the E-Shop. I didn't expect the E-Shop downloads to take as long as they did. I guess we're spoiled from the Wii-Shop downloads not taking too long. The downloads being shown as presents that need to be unwrapped on the menu give the downloads a nice touch but I like the original Nintendo Mario running around on the Wii-shop rather than the balls/apples/whatever they have on the E-Shop. The 3D is neat for these two games. Seeing Excitebike for Nintendo in 3D is cool. It gives that "new era" feel to a classic game. Seeing the railings go across the starting line and look like you can touch them is crazy that words can't describe. As for the Pokedex, it's a great way to see the Unova region Pokemon in 3D and have the option to photograph them. It's fun to see Tepig jump up and you can tell where it's going to land. It's also a quick option to check levels rather than jumping on your computer to check the evolution level. Now if only they could make it talk, then it would be like a real Pokedex, but I guess I will settle for 3D right now. Seeing my Mii in 3D was pretty cool as well, not just because my Mii actually looks like me for once. My Wii Mii didn't exactly look like me too much but anyway, the menu being in 3D shows that Nintendo didn't pull any punches with making this system by making it the best it could be. Face Raiders and the AR games show the awesomeness of the system and that Nintendo wants this system to last a long time. I can't wait for the game library to get bigger for more fun titles and to see what other classic games get the 3D adjustment. Viva la 3D!
