3DS= Decline in Sales
3DS sales aren't where the good people at Nintendo would like them to be. Why is this? There are a few reasons why the Newest handheld at Nintendo isn't bringing in normal Nintendo Profits. For starters the game library isn't the greatest in the world. The Gamecube and the DS had a similar weak launch window but that didn't stop the masses from jumping all over those systems. The 3DS has its golden boy in Street Fighter 4 to carry the system until Mario Mario and Link and Star Fox throw their hat into the portable 3D realm. If your not a fan of Pilotwings or Nintendogs, then what would you do, put money down for a system you're not going to use for months until the Zelda 3D remake makes its appearance. Or it could be that 3D without glasses doesn't appeal to all people. I have played the Street Fighter demo in stores and it looks great but it takes a while to get the feel of the 3D. You hear about people who are getting sick from only playing a few minutes of the 3DS and I understand how you could get a little sick from playing it because you haven't found that sweet spot yet for your eyes. The idea of being sick might scare away potential buyers. On the plus side of the launch window being suspect, characters and games that wouldn't normally get the spotlight get to be the center of attention such as Luigi's mansion during the Gamecube days. You won't know how good a game is unless you give it a chance. Its still very early in the 3DS era and once the heavy hitters come on the scene, sales should go up for the system. If gamers didn't give Kirby or Pokemon a chance, who knows what would have become of these Nintendo heavy hitters. Hopefully the system doesn't end up as the 2nd coming of the Virtual Boy and I really don't see that happening.
